Campaign Worlds/Keshyré/History

Keshyran history is a history of conflict and resolution. It is dominated by the actions of the young gods and the outer gods in conflict. All dates are approximate.

Beginning with the creation of Keshyré by the young gods and the lesser dragons only the aoifé (elves) and cazedaya (dragons) have any memories of this time.

Pre-History

The dawn of Keshyré saw the rise of the elder races: cazedaya (people of the dragon), The Rük (goblins), augir (dwarves), jhen (children of the djinn), giants and the beastmen. There was much conflict between the elder races. The outer gods made many inroads into the world at this time, corrupting the elder races in various ways and fanning the fires between them. Dawn ended with the rise of man, a little known race previously, and the expulsion of the outer gods from the world though the compact of Janaaka.

Years 0 to 3000

This time saw the power of human's increase, the wars between the elder races allowed humans to become dominant. However the taint of the outer gods was not entirely removed and they had managed to spawn children with humans and others creating the Taneral, Thehr-Amaer and Sorgal, half-demons all.

Years 3000 to 4000

Janaaka, the god of communication and commerce appeared (3000) in many places simultaneously and spent the next several years teaching and educating peoples. This was probably the calmest time in Keshyran history.

During this period Kelé Regnos and the K'Tan Empire were founded. Kelé Regnos was founded (3003) by the followers of Daon Kel and K'Tan was founded (3254) by the dragon emperor who has the blood of the cazedaya in his veins.

Also the Raithean Alliance formed (3689) and the Pantanathean city-states began their ascension (3756).

Years 4000 to 4500

A star falls into Gulf of Gabliyon (4000) causing a tidal wave that destroys the surrounding coastline. The Keshyran sky darkens for several months. Several months after the star fall explorers and priests sent from Kelé Regnos and the Raithean Alliance reach coasts of Gulf of Gabliyon and report strange monstrosities emerging from the water and heading west into the region Locharnich. Within fifty years reports of the emergence of a vampire cult at Voyno crater near Locharnich surface and soon the vampire cult dominates local populace in Locharnich and Caran ar Thékila (Carathé), is founded (4063) in Locharnich, by Amaer Tul the vampire witch-king and the volcano at Voyno crater erupts spewing clouds of ash and smoke into the air blanketing the south and blotting out the sun.

The Pantanathean city-states are in Renaissance while Kelé Regnos reaches its zenith. Caran ar Thékila aggressively expanded at this time, and allies with Sebkhat.

Kelé Regnos became very concerned massive expansion of Caran ar Thékila. Humanoid incursions to Kelé Regnos, Raithean Alliance and Pantanathea begin.

War begins between Caran ar Thékila and Kelé Regnos-Raithean Alliance.

Year 4567

One event dominates this time it is known as The Awakening. The Awakening was an event that was brought about by the great magics used in the war between Kelé Regnos and Caran ar Thékila. The Awakening caused the breaking of the continent of Keshyré and the downfall of Kelé Regnos. The Awakening was in actuality the awakening of two beings, the ancient world dragon Cazélon and the Lord of the Outer Dark, Nya Tul Hlar. It was the conflict between these two that brought about the devastation of Keshyré. Caran ar Thékila was responsible for the awakening of Nya Tul Hlar and Kelé Regnos for the world dragon, Cazélon. Kelé Regnos was virtually destroyed; most of the Raithean Alliance sank forming the Erent Sea, Caran ar Thékilan capital at Voyno erupts in a volcano throwing Caran ar Thékila in disarray. Nya Tul Hlar is slain and Cazélon slumbers.

Years 4567 to 4700

The world is thrown into a long and deep winter, known as the Great Winter, which lasts for a hundred years. Summers are barely warm enough to grow a few crops in milder areas. The Pantanathean city states are protected by Amaie Ranna and Janaaka from ruin.

The Great Winter ends and the world thaws.
